4 Reasons To Opt for Natural Body Wash

Kick your synthetic beauty products to the curb and opt for a natural body wash to enrich and revitalise your skin with fabulous plant-based formulas bursting with naturally derived ingredients. Make the switch to naturally nourishing plant-based body wash with natural ingredients that scrub away dirt and grime without the need for harsh chemicals or detergents with OC Naturals body wash.

Plant-based, Natural and Organic Ingredients

More than just a bottle of natural body wash, we have strict standards for all the elements that go into our products, with plenty of ingredients to avoid in body wash that other beauty products use, which may disrupt your health.

Our talented team has created a delightful line of eco-friendly skincare and hair products that nourish and revitalise, regardless of your hair type. We combine natural and organic components with nourishing oils to make your hair and skin the picture of brilliance and health, just as nature intended.

Plus, our Kids' range of organic body wash is made with plant-based ingredients that are mild on your skin and enriched with pro-vitamin B5 and Glycerin.

Here is every ingredient you won’t find inside an OC Naturals bottle:

Parabens This type of preservative is a phytoestrogen that can mimic estrogen by binding to cell receptors. They may disrupt hormones, harming fertility and reproductive organs.

Sulphates (SLES & ALS) These chemicals are known foaming agents used to produce lather and bubbles in soap. Sulphates deplete the skin's natural oils and increase surface penetration. Additionally, they aggravate those with sensitive skin or eczema.

Propylene Glycol A chemical used in vehicle antifreeze may cause immunotoxicity and irritation.

Triclosan It may cause thyroid hormonal issues.

EDTA It prevents metals from being deposited on your scalp and hair, but it can be toxic if ingested.

Harsh Detergents (like SLS) A common detergent for removing dirt and oil used in beauty products is Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS), which can be damaging to those with sensitive skin or hair. Despite its links to skin disorders, including perioral dermatitis, SLS has typically been used for lathering.

Petrochemical Cleansers Often found in dishwashing detergents, industrial soaps or cleaning fluids, petrochemical cleansers dissolve grease dirt like household cleaners make grease disappear, clean glass and help disinfect your bathroom and kitchen. As the name suggests, they’re made using fossil fuels, which is already bad enough. But the worst part is they can harm your hair and skin, the environment and the organisms that inhabit them.

Mineral Oils Another petrochemical-derived chemical, Mineral Oils, are often used to make petrol and other petroleum products. But the main reason to avoid Mineral Oils is their comedogenic and occlusive properties, which means they may block the pores in your skin. Colourless, odourless, petroleum mineral oils can physically suffocate your skin, trapping in dirt, dead skin and harmful bacteria. Despite its soothing properties, it does very little to nourish your skin.

Preservatives We Avoid We only employ preservatives that have been evaluated and given approval for usage, and we use them in the fewest amounts feasible. We avoid using the following preservatives in our products:

  • Quaternium-15
  • DMDM hydration
  • Diazolidinyl Urea (Germall)
  • Sodium hydroxymethyl glycinate (suttocide)
  • Methylparaben
  • ethylparaben
  • propylparaben
  • Butylparaben

DEA (Diethanolamine), MEA (Monoethanolamine), TEA (Triethanolamine) These three chemicals are prohibited by the European Union and can mess with your hormonal balance. They can bioaccumulate, which raises environmental concerns as well. They are frequently discovered in shampoos, soaps, bubble baths, and facial cleansers as emulsifiers or foaming agents.

Why use synthetic chemicals when our plant-based formulations can accomplish the same tasks better than they can?

    100% Recyclable Plastic Bottles

Yup, you read that correctly. All our plastic bottles - even the green ones - are 100% recyclable. Made in Melbourne, Victoria, at our solar-powered factory in Ferntree Gully, we use clear, recycled plastic for our Shampoo, Conditioner and Kids' products

As for our green-tinted  Body Wash bottles, they’re not only 100% recyclable; they’re made with recycled plastics that would usually end up in landfills, which means we can make bottles from bottles, time and time again! We even invested in carbon-free master-batching, making the plastic easily detectable in the recycling process to ensure our green plastic bottles are absolutely 100%.

We switched to these green bottles due to consistency issues with our bottles' clarity due to the recycled plastics we use. To avoid compromising the appearance of the bottle or our brand, we chose to switch to a lovely, organic green colour. The new green bottles will complement your bathroom and house while maintaining the same 100% recyclable goal as our other bottles.

    100% Australian-made and owned!

The Natures Organics family has been manufacturing sustainable, ecologically friendly goods entirely Australian-owned and created since 1981. We were and still are among Australia's first true innovators in creating formulas that are "near to nature" and environmentally friendly. Since technology has advanced over the last 40 years, our Australian plant-based line is even more kind to the environment and you.

Palm-Oil Free, Vegan Friendly and Completely Cruelty-Free

OC Naturals adhere to a strict palm oil policy for all haircare, body wash and kids’ products. Palm Oil is not used in any of our products. However, some ingredients are derivatives of Palm Oil, which are deemed safe for cosmetic use in Australia.

To ensure quality and responsibility for the environment, we use vegan-certified plant-based ingredients that avoid animal cruelty -not now, not ever! Even our partners and suppliers must also comply with our strict standards. That’s how seriously we take our nourishing, environmentally responsible, Australian-made hair and skincare products.

All of our products are suitable for septic systems when used appropriately, which means you shouldn’t be dumping a whole bottle down the drain because too much detergent could harm the system.
